I grew up eating a lot of tenderloin, but it was always cut into very small pieces or ground to make minced pork. So, the first time I cooked pork tenderloin in a skillet, I was a little worried. However, I don’t have to…because it’s easy to cook and delicious cut of meat.
The main thing to remember when cooking fried pork tenderloin is to be sure to use a meat thermometer. The pork should be slightly pink in the middle so you don’t overcook it but you also want to make sure it reaches 145 F in the middle so you don’t eat undercooked pork.
If you’re concerned about undercooking pork, don’t worry too much about it. You can shred your tenderloin before serving to check if it is cooked. And if not, you can return it to the pan. A meat thermometer should let you know how cooked the meat is without cutting it.
What do you enjoy with your pork tenderloin?
I love some of the green vegetables I use with pork tenderloin. They not only add flavor but also nutrition.

Ingredients
- 1 450 gm pork tenderloin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) avocado oil or coconut oil for cooking
instructions
- Cut your tenderloin into 2-3 sections so that it fits into the pan more easily.
- Add oil to the skillet and use tongs to cook the pork tenderloin on one side first. Once this side is cooked, use tongs to flip the pork tenderloin and cook the other sides until all sides are brown.
- Keep turning the pork every few minutes until the meat thermometer shows an internal temperature just under 145 F (63 C). The pork will continue to cook a bit after you remove it from the pan.
- Leave the meat for a few minutes and then cut it into slices 2.5 cm thick with a sharp knife.
