Donna Aho has had a tough time in the past few years but she managed to lose 8.8 kg and 41 cm in 12 week challenge!
The Christchurch-based mom reveals that she initially wanted to lose a little weight but decided to sign up for 12 week challenge Because she wanted a bigger commitment.
“Life threw me many curveballs. My dad passed away, not only was my husband diagnosed with cancer but also needed a kidney transplant and eventually ended up in a wheelchair and through all of this I just kept gaining weight and couldn’t get my head in correct space,” Says.
I signed up for 12 week challenge Because I needed a bigger commitment. It’s weird how your brain works, so I vowed to finish something I started and now that my husband is a lot better, it’s time to take care of me.”
In fact, Donna says she’s seen plenty of health benefits since she signed up for 12 week challenge.
“I’ve had so many benefits, my fitness has improved, my skin is better, I sleep better at night and I really believe it helps with menopause,” Says.
“Once I had the kit, I read it and made a plan as often as I could, I work shifts for shifting hours, so my hours change every day but it was helpful.”
What do Donna eat on a normal day
breakfast: Scrambled or boiled eggs with soldiers and tomatoes.
Snacks: Nuts, fruits, or rice crackers, hummus, sticks of vegetables and peanut butter.
lunch: Salad or soup.
Dinner: recipe from 28 Day Weight Loss Challenge App. My favorites are the ribs and salad, shepherd’s lentil pie, enchiladas or a good curry.
“I don’t use THM juices but all my meals are from healthy mummy app. Love the variety of recipes available,” Says.
“The past 12 weeks have been great, I’ve learned so much about myself and been amazed at what my body can achieve even at my age. Would I do another 12 weeks?…Sure!
“If I had to give any advice, it would be very difficult to go on your own journey, we are all different, don’t compare yours to others. I often saw others resentful that they were not getting the same results.
“This is something I’ve been doing but now it’s all about getting me better no matter how long it takes, Confidence in Healthy Mummy, it’s working.”
